The application for the Fall 2024 semester is now OPEN.
Each semester, all members, new and returning, MUST complete the membership application AND send an audio or video recording. YOU WILL NOT BE EXCLUDED BASED ON YOU RECORDING, IT IS JUST FOR CHAIR PLACEMENTS. PEOPLE FROM ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN NMO!!
- Complete the membership application
- Record an audio or video of any piece of your choosing. No longer than 1 minute in duration.
- Tempo markings are only suggestions, so play at a tempo that is comfortable for you.
- Save and label the audio/video (NOT email subject line) with your instrument and your name. Name of your file should be in this form: “Instrument – Name”. Example: “Flute – John Doe”
- Send with the subject line: “Fall 2024 Sound Sample”
- IMPORTANT: Make sure that your file works!
- Send your recording as an email attachment to nmo@uh.edu.
We will send a notification email stating that your recording has been received and processed.

***Please keep in mind that we will not exclude you based on your audition! The audition is for the conductors to balance out the orchestra. Everyone is welcome to join NMO. All we ask for enthusiasm and a good work ethic 😊
Our conductor and arranger Mr. Fernandez takes great care to re-listen to the recordings and place them according to performance.
